    • Rendered texture > draw polygon collisions

      Hi guys,

I’m looking for a bit of assistance. I can’t seem to find a solution and hit a block.

I have a project where by I create a rendered texture > draw with polygon coordinates.

I’m trying to set objects with a certain tag to visible when that object intersects with the draw polygon.

I’ve tried the approach of using the collision behaviours etc but I can’t seem to get it to work as expected.![alt text]IMG_0364.png

The above is a screenshot of what I am working on. Essentially the red box is the player. Using a draw polygon, I extrude a field of view, blue objects are walls and block line of sight. I’m hoping to implement something for the green blocks that would become enemy players and only become visible when they enter the field of view.

Any help or guidance would be appreciated. As I’m banging my head against the wall.

    • Skew individual object points?

      Hello,

I’m new to HP and have been reading through the helps pages.

I wanted to check and see if it was possible to taper an object. For example I have an object with a loaded sprite. Is it possible to scale individual points to give the appearance of perspective?

      Thanks again.

    • RE: Arrays across scenes

@Kamdroid Ah ha, good shout, I may experiment with this a bit more.

I think I may have answered my own question. By using the save to and load from file option. Only downside is that that I would need to load the scene first to save the array so it can be accessed later by scenes.

    • Arrays across scenes

      Hello all,

I’m hoping there is a quick answer to this and that it is possible.

I want to store data in a number of arrays that can be accessed by a number of different scenes.

My plan was to put some main arrays in to a scene specifically for it and retrieve/modify data directly from those scenes. I’ve tried doing a number of things such as broadcast etc but I expect this may not be working because the scene with the arrays isn’t loaded.

Has anyone else done this? It seems like the best way to manage lots of different arrays needing accessed by lots of scens.

Anyway, thanks in advance for your help.

@Aidan_Fire thank you. I thought this may be the case. I think I can get away with adjusting the sprite before bringing it in.

This would have been a neat little thing to use to give the impression of depth if you could dynamically change the values depending on screen position. Maybe one for the future.
