Game jams are contests and in it, people from all around the world will make games with a theme, you only get a limited time, make sure to tag your game jam games with #game_jam. The first person to comment is the person to choose the theme, that person will change sometimes. Get jamming!

HyperPad I think will release new game jams (just called Challenged rather than game jams) pretty soon with rewards for winning.
