Asset library naming
Along with being able to reference objects by name, it would be really useful to be able to set graphic based on a graphics name in the asset library. For something like a level builder, if you wanted to have like ground tiles, and be able to have the user choose different versions of the tiles, like dirt, grass, or snow, or a different angle, etc, you would have to have to use a lot of IF's(depending on how many options you have)

RE: Collided Behaviour First Window Fails
@Deeeds normally it says “any object” if an object hasn’t been selected. If it is showing it when an object is selected, then I agree it’s a bug.

RE: UNDO in Behaviour Editor: A suggestion
@Aidan-Oxley the sunglasses are nice, but they don’t look that great on him.
Is that actually his picture? It’s not how I imagined he looked. The smile was the first hint. -
RE: Share with Daughter's iPad: HOW?
@Deeeds you should be able to download Hyperpad from your purchases in the App Store on the other iPad if it’s the same account. And then log into Hyperpad with the same account?
To share you would have to share with an email or iMessage etc. or download a backup of the project from you backups. You couldn’t both work on it at the same time, but one could work and then save a backup or send it to the other person so that they can then work on it. -
RE: Coding Sucks
@deeeds since dancing has been mentioned;
Advising other coders not to code(while coding yourself) because you think it sucks, is equivalent to showing up for your dance class and dancing and telling everyone it sucks and that they should avoid it if possible. -
RE: Is anyone else having to Login each time they use the app?
It used to happen to me constantly, but it hasn’t again since whatever update fixed it.

RE: Hub questions
@This to get feed back on your project as you add features, and to see if people like your game.

RE: HYPERPAD - 5 STARS!
I rated five stars as well!!!
I think they do a great job, and they answer questions very quickly!

RE: Behavior Request: Colliding
If I understand your question, the simplest way to do this is to have an attribute with a default of 0 and when the objects collide set the attribute to 1 then when they stop colliding set it back to 0.
So, all you have to do is to get that attribute and if it is equal to 1 that means they are currently colliding!
Hope this makes sense, if you have any questions about this just ask! -
Performance question
This is probably a question for @Hamed.
So, I'm wanting to set the position of a bunch of objects to different calculated positions, and I'm curious if it would be faster to have each object calculate its position and set it, or to have one object loop through all of the objects and calculate and set their positions?
Maybe it doesn't matter but I thought I'd ask! -
RE: How do you upvote a post
@DGames135 in the very bottom right of a post there is a number and arrows....that is for upvoting or downvoting

RE: SUGGESTION: Add a REAL sprite editor
@XGames Hyperpad is for making games, not art😄 it would be better to get an app designed specifically for that purpose, like assembly, drawing desk, adobe sketch, adobe draw, sketch club, etc. That way Hyperpad can focus on features to help us put our art to use in a game!😉

RE: Looping, Scrolling, Flat "world", like DEFENDER?
@Jack8680 @Deeeds, @Hamed said that empty objects are better than a graphic when invisible, but worse when visible. (For performance)

RE: Colab Request: Similar to Shadowrun: Dragonfall
@Thecheater887 you don’t have to be developer to publish to the hub, right?

RE: Suggest: Screen Drag & Drop
@Thecheater887 I'll be on a long drive tomorrow so it won't be a problem!

RE: Coding Sucks
@deeeds said in Coding Sucks:
Things that suck less than coding:
Riding
Driving
Throwing
Catching
Writing
Painting
Drawing
Thinking
Reading
Watching
Listening
Drinking
Eating
Swimming
Running
Acting
Dancing
Mating
Rearing
Celebrating
Laughing
Mingling
Talking
Walking
Jesting
Joking
Mocking
Chewing
Kicking
PunchingSo seeing as you do coding, you must not do any of the above? “Only as a dire and last resort, go to coding.”

RE: Bringing Back Gamepress
@HudsonGami you have to realize that Hyperpad isn't here to provide you sprites....they are giving you a tool to make games with your sprites. There are plenty of good sites like opengameart.org where you can find art and music. Or get an app like assembly to make art. You should check out the pages in this forum under "help and support) there are two, and they provide lists of apps and websites tools for finding and creating your own assets.
Personally, I think if you are serious and really want to make something good, you should get or creat your own assets, since using a default green spaceman is kinda tacky!
