I'm really sorry to see you go.
But it's hard to help when we're in the dark about your issues. The best way to get help about situations like these is to fill out the personal support form so we can help you directly 1 on 1.Your files missing is something we haven't encountered before. But again we're happy to look into why this happened and to see if there is any way to recover. But again we require you to actually contact us.

I did post the backup failure issue several times, apparently others were having the same issue. Without a current backup I’ve lost valuable changes to my game, and it is frustrating to have to step backward because I do not have a backup.
The system went down and then came back online, at which point the app asked me to login. I logged in and the app indicated I had no projects in the hub! The only option I had was to find a version that was passed from me to Hamed for permissions issue fixes and then emailed back to me. However, that version is old and does not have so many of the behaviors, actions, and reactions that I fine-tuned over the last 2 weeks. Hence, the reason for the comment: two steps up, three steps back.
Murtaza, the worst part about all this is that over the 2+ years of using Gamepress/hyperPad I’ve developed a skill set, and now I have to start from scratch looking for another app to create my game, developing another brand new skill set.

I usually don’t like iCloud backups, mostly because I can’t control exactly when they backup, and my upload speed is so slow that big projects would take too long. So whenever I wanted to back something up, I would export my project to something like Notes app or now using iOS 11 the Files app.

Regarding the backups, we're still looking into it. Although others are having the similar issues they seem to be caused by different reasons. So it takes a little while to collect the information and diagnose the problem.
If you had projects in the hub, they should still be there. That shouldn't have been affected at all. It was a connection issue while we were updating software, the data stayed intact. When did you submit your project to the hub?

Given how spectacularly unresponsive you've been to my problems with your cloud/hosting, which I've sent to you and your brother multiple times, I'm not surprised to see this thread.
Next time you're wondering why things get "toxic", perhaps consider your inability to communicate well, and the nature and tone of that which you do communicate. My attitude is a response. Just as everyone's is.
You've a long history of being oddly cantankerous and contemptuous in your defences of hyperPad. Internalising the lexicon of startup culture isn't helping. You're way past startup, and you're way past bootstrapping.
If you're truly self funding, you're accountable to the (very) few users you have.
There are serious things wrong with hyperPad. All of which I'm sure you're aware. Some of them, for some of the few users, are indefensible failings and flaws.
Why you don't fix them, or even seem to make any effort to fix them, is beyond me. And everyone else not privy to your "reasoning".
JUST Fix them. Please.
Or explain why you're not, so folks can get on with their lives. Be responsible!
If you're struggling to afford good enough hosting to operate your "cloud", get some money. I'll happily help.
Please stop attempting to bullshit people and obscuring the real problems. Folks aren't as stupid as you seem to think they are, and have innately attuned crap detectors.
If you want to continue flailing, carry on as you are.

@deeeds seriously, I think everybody already understands that there are some bugs with Hyperpad. But some of us also understand that they are a small team doing there best. And having to deal with your posts like this just waists more of their time.
“You've a long history of being oddly cantankerous and contemptuous in your defences of hyperPad.” What is wrong with you?
-
@itap-development what's wrong with your google?

My google? Lol

Ok, not my last and final post! It is interesting throughout all this, that during my search for a better app, I honestly didn’t find one that fits my needs and skill set as well as hyperPad! It is wiser for me to take the extra time to bring an older version up to speed than spend more time learning another platform!
I enjoy and I am very familiar with hyperPad and I don’t want to start over, so I’m sticking with it.
I’ll learn from the recent past, update to my own cloud, etc., deal calmly with going a few steps backward every now and then understanding that it is part of growth, and try to remain positive....either that, or up my meds! -
@jonnyflapjack
I'm glad to hear you're sticking around and willing to give us another chance. We're quite humbled to hear that you enjoyed hyperPad.Our next few updates will focus on stability and bug improvements. So I can assure you the experience will get better. I don't have any specific dates just yet, and don't want to promise anything. We're already quite behind on when I wanted it out by. But what I can promise you is we're working hard on fixing the reported problems!

How hard is it to upgrade your server hosting package to one that actually works?
Why have you not addressed the fact that users can't store and work on their projects?
-
@deeeds first, I CAN store and work on projects. So at worst it’s partly functional....
Second, he just said “But what I can promise you is we're working hard on fixing the reported problems!”. I’m guessing that includes fixing the cloud storage bug that several users are experiencing. -
@itap-development Cloud storage isn't a bug.
It's a problem with the server hosting package they've bought as part of the forum and hub "upgrades".
Storing was working up until then, in the current version of hyperPad.
They've switched to cheaper hosting/servers for the last couple of months.
@Murtaza I'll happily pay the difference for you to return to the previous hosting/servers.
-
So what’s wrong with iCloud backups? Certain users can’t use iCloud to back up their projects? Just tested it, works for me. My upload speed is rediculously slow, like 50kb/sec, so I always turn iCloud backups off lol cause they take so long.
-
@aidan-oxley Not icloud storage. hyperPad cloud storage.
That which is being paid for as part of the product.
That which is supposed to work when saving and quitting a project and heading back to the projects page.
THAT is not working.
It was 2 months ago. It's not now.
Does this work for you?
-
@deeeds HyperPad cloud backups work for me.
-
@aidan-oxley Yes, of course they do. It's just everyone else.
-
@deeeds who else is it happening too?
-
The issue is backups ARE working for a large number of users. This makes it very difficult to track the problem. From what we're seeing there is no common connection between the users that are experiencing back up problems.
As for servers. We're using the same servers, but changed the software and how things are handled. Basically removed the bloat to make things quicker for you, and quicker for us to update and change (and also cheaper for us in the long run).
Could this change be the root cause to the back up issue? Possibly. But again, because we're seeing constant backups being sent to the server, it only seems to be affecting a small number of users.I understand that it's a feature that you've paid for, and definitely get that you're upset. You can go through apple to get a refund (they don't give us this ability :( ), and I'll make sure your account stays with the developer tier for an extra few months.
