    • FNaF: Fredbear's Family Diner

      I've backtracked from my last cancelled game, and have decided to use the "Clean Project" tool to my advantage.
      Instead of using my old, unused bits from my last project, I have recreated everything to be and look smoother and better, and have remade the entire game from scratch.

      This was for reasons regarding corrupted files, etc.

      Since i had a go with C++ and JavaScript, I decided to take this project back to the iPad, and give it to the Hyperpad community.

      So, this is my game here.

      Five Nights at Freddy's: Fredbear's Family Diner

      Welcome to your Christmas job, where you'll work in an office on the night shift, looking after the main attraction, Fredbear. A bear Animatronic who loves to have fun.

      But at night, he tends to be left on a mode where he... Well... Roams free...
      But this isn't without reason, of course.
      His designer, William Afton had this idea to prevent their Servos from locking up during the night, causing a costly repair.

      All you have to fend yourself from him strolling into your office is two doors and a camera monitoring system. This isn't without its kinks though, as the camera system will sometimes fail. There isn't an actual known reason, and this can cause your system to sometimes reboot when needed most.

      You work Monday to Friday, at $4 per hour.
      6 hours each night.
      For as long as you can survive.

      All I need to do now is to come up with some way of making this deadly animatronic to roam about with AI...
      I did have an idea, but it doesn't work too well since I used a change asset behaviour.

      The first release will (most likely) be a buggy demo for the first two nights.

      After that, I'll see if I can roll the whole game out as fast as possible.

      if anyone wants a specific mechanic, just put it in then, comments section, and I'll see what I can do :)
      basically, the game is lacking in mechanics that make it more difficult, and all my testers have been able to get through both nights with no problems. All four said that its too easy, and that there needs to be more challenging mechanics, and I decided to take to the community to see what you want.

      Minor/Major setback... I kinda forgot to backup my work to my already clogged up cloud storage, so i havent exactly got much of a game.
      since i was literally fixing up a few last bugs 3 hours ago, i log back into HP, and my projects area (somehow?) went back to the last backup i made (Day one of the four ive been working on this for.) so now im about 30% done instead of 70% done.

      Anyway, ive written up a few more mechanics since i had some spare time (basically taking a break) and ill go and add them after ive reconstructed the games layout.
      heck, i may even just go all out and re-do the office, since its not all that great-looking while im at it.

      anyway, ill keep pushing out updates for where im at, and ill post when its nearly finished (And ill make sure to actually backup my project this time...)

      Oh, and before i get back to work on this, I want to have a voice actor, one that wouldnt mind their voice being used as a "phone guy" replacement, since i havent really got anyone to do that for me, and you know how it is with keeping identities to yourself.
      I'd do it myself, but i havent got any proper recording equipment, or the money to buy any. so anyone with an actual microphone/studio setup, help a fellow... padder(?) out?

    • FNaF: FFD Moved. Again.

      I think I should probably just say now, I probably shouldn't have made a release date for FFD since I cant keep to them.

      only 2 things are slowing me down, the AI and Phone Girl's recordings are taking a while to perfect.

      but I do have an answer to when it should be done.
      Late August - Early September.
      Specific Dates aren't exactly my strong suit, and i usually just break them. this is one of those occasions.

      anyway, i am working as hard as possible to find a way so that the AI works, but isn't too hard to understand/figure out, and I'm getting the voice actor to do a few more tries to determine which call is more fitting for each night.
      at the moment, I'm thinking of re-creating the office. It doesn't look the nicest, and the fact that its a main mechanic, its not exactly a great example of my works up until now.

      Oh, if anyone doesn't mind in helping me with this AI thing, I'm happy for people who know how to create one to help, since its my first time creating Computer Intelligence. I'll send over a copy of the game, get someone to try it out, tell me whats wrong, and what to do to make it better. Basically, I'm asking for a few people to try the game out before I release it, but I don't know if I could trust people not to share it about.
      But I guess if anyone asks, I'll send it to them. There's only going to be a few people to get their hands on it pre-release, and do it on some sort of condition. Send requests in the DM, because then we can disclose private information, and send each other .tap files for the game.

      anyway, that's all for now. this was really just a heads up post that it isn't coming out tomorrow, and that I'm sorry for anyone who was waiting on it. even if it was a few people, my intention wasn't to disappoint.

      with completion on the horizon with my game, i ran into a few annoying save bugs on hyperpad, where sometimes the game wouldn't save, and some behaviours would erase themselves.

      but i countered it, and its at full steam ahead, and is nearly, nearly done!
      all i need to do now is give someone their voice lines, since thats really all thats left.

      uhm...
      oh yeah.

      since its so close to completion, I have something for you all
      its nothing exciting though.
      its just the release date.
      and since voice lines are hard to perfect, im gonna go ahead and say the 31st July 2018.

      this is a week of trying to debug, perfect voice lines, and give me some time to back down a little.

      if you want an insight on what the game looks like, I'll provide a few screenshots in the comments :)

      I have remodeled the entire map, and I'm making perspective shots now, so expect it to be finished by October-November.
      although i must say now, any iPad/iPhone running iOS 9 or lower (iPad Mini, 5c models and previous, I'm looking at you...) CANNOT run this game because of the old A5/A6 chips being too slow to keep up with the demanding gameplay.

      anything sporting an A7, A8, A9X, A10X, and A11X chipsets are good to go (tested with xCode, ported to other devices from iPhone 4s to iPhone X (yes i have all of these devices))

      at the moment, I'm writing a PC version using PyGame with a few other people to see how it runs on older laptops using Intel i3 Cores because this is a project to show how well im able to program and write code, as well as to provide to the public.

      anyway, with progress related business now,

      ive not been doing a lot because of recent family... problems.
      i decided to take some time off, and model the map when i was able to, and get people to help.

      at the moment, ive allowed 5 people to help me with production and creation, so it makes more sense than if i was doing it alone.
      i had an estimated time of getting this finished by february on my own, so thanks to the people that are helping me.

      but progeress-wise, were about 25% done.

      I'll update again next month to let you know whats going on.

      @aidan-oxley I rarely get the forums to have me log in, but its almost every time i use the app it asks me to log in. I'm glad i flagged this since its getting attention from more people (including the devs, which im most happy about.)

      but i wont lie, it does get annoying from time to time.

    • The joy of filler games, and update on FFD

      Hello, just wanted to update again this month, and tell you whats going on.
      uh...
      Filler game coming soon, although xCode wont let me run it on the latest iPhone 10s and iPhone 10s Max...

      hopefully, this shouldn't take too long, its just a simple platformer not related in anyway to fnaf.

      the game is about 5 levels long, it hasnt got an offical name, but i getting some of the team working on FNAFFD to test it and comment on it.

      so far, the FNAFFD game isn't actually going to be released here. I've tried redesigning the sprites to take up less than 60% of the available storage of the game able to run on devices pre-iPhone 8...

      I'll be porting it over to Android instead, and hopefully get some taster demo here with the original non-3d render out sometime within the next month or so.
      this was the last thing i wanted to do, so sorry about this.
      its probably due to most of the available RAM on older devices, and since a majority of devices on android have about 6-8GB RAM, its more suited for the android phones.

      anyway, hopefully you wont be too disapointed with the final outcome of the DEMO version of FNAFFD, and im hoping i can just get a filler made by me and a friend.

      A lot of thought went into the process, about 3-4 months of pure planing, making sure HP can run it, and keeping the game consistent. anyway, updates this time next month.

      I have decided to trash the entire project and start anew.
      I'm also renaming it to fit with my own timeline, instead of having it try to fit in with another.

      but ive started learning how to use a 3D software that isnt 3DS Max. I found it on the internet, and its called "Sketch up".
      I have already tried learning the basics, and ill try to start modelling tomorrow morning.

      all i have right now is sound affects, animations and other useful stuff passed on from the last project.

      The new name for the project, im not sure yet.
      i may keep the old one, but have it in my own timeline to set it up for more games in the timeline, or have a standalone.
      but i need to work that out before i do anything else really.

      anything that i do is posted here, so keep tuned in for updates.
