    • The joy of filler games, and update on FFD

      Hello, just wanted to update again this month, and tell you whats going on.
      uh...
      Filler game coming soon, although xCode wont let me run it on the latest iPhone 10s and iPhone 10s Max...

      hopefully, this shouldn't take too long, its just a simple platformer not related in anyway to fnaf.

      the game is about 5 levels long, it hasnt got an offical name, but i getting some of the team working on FNAFFD to test it and comment on it.

      so far, the FNAFFD game isn't actually going to be released here. I've tried redesigning the sprites to take up less than 60% of the available storage of the game able to run on devices pre-iPhone 8...

      I'll be porting it over to Android instead, and hopefully get some taster demo here with the original non-3d render out sometime within the next month or so.
      this was the last thing i wanted to do, so sorry about this.
      its probably due to most of the available RAM on older devices, and since a majority of devices on android have about 6-8GB RAM, its more suited for the android phones.

      anyway, hopefully you wont be too disapointed with the final outcome of the DEMO version of FNAFFD, and im hoping i can just get a filler made by me and a friend.

      A lot of thought went into the process, about 3-4 months of pure planing, making sure HP can run it, and keeping the game consistent. anyway, updates this time next month.

      ~UPDATE~

      I have remodeled the entire map, and I'm making perspective shots now, so expect it to be finished by October-November.
      although i must say now, any iPad/iPhone running iOS 9 or lower (iPad Mini, 5c models and previous, I'm looking at you...) CANNOT run this game because of the old A5/A6 chips being too slow to keep up with the demanding gameplay.

      anything sporting an A7, A8, A9X, A10X, and A11X chipsets are good to go (tested with xCode, ported to other devices from iPhone 4s to iPhone X (yes i have all of these devices))

      at the moment, I'm writing a PC version using PyGame with a few other people to see how it runs on older laptops using Intel i3 Cores because this is a project to show how well im able to program and write code, as well as to provide to the public.

      anyway, with progress related business now,

      ive not been doing a lot because of recent family... problems.
      i decided to take some time off, and model the map when i was able to, and get people to help.

      at the moment, ive allowed 5 people to help me with production and creation, so it makes more sense than if i was doing it alone.
      i had an estimated time of getting this finished by february on my own, so thanks to the people that are helping me.

      but progeress-wise, were about 25% done.

      I'll update again next month to let you know whats going on.

      maybe by Hallows eve.
      not sure yet, and it depends on how smoothly the re-rendering process takes.

      I have decided to trash the entire project and start anew.
      I'm also renaming it to fit with my own timeline, instead of having it try to fit in with another.

      but ive started learning how to use a 3D software that isnt 3DS Max. I found it on the internet, and its called "Sketch up".
      I have already tried learning the basics, and ill try to start modelling tomorrow morning.

      all i have right now is sound affects, animations and other useful stuff passed on from the last project.

      The new name for the project, im not sure yet.
      i may keep the old one, but have it in my own timeline to set it up for more games in the timeline, or have a standalone.
      but i need to work that out before i do anything else really.

      anything that i do is posted here, so keep tuned in for updates.

    • Mind made up, and changelogs for FNAF: FFD

      Hey, there.

      I have made my mind up with the big changes im making for the game.
      I am:

      1. Re-making the office from scratch minus the desk. I like the desk, so I'll keep it lol
      2. Making the office LARGER
      3. Giving Fredbear THREE ways to enter your already massive office.
      4. adding 2 NEW cameras to see more of your surroundings (of your office. no inner-building cams will be added in the beta. this could also stay through tho the full release.)
      5. REMODDELING THE ENTIRE BUILDING USING 3DSMAX. this will take a long time, so im sorry if its not out by September, as this could take a long time to do. This is mainly to improve the quality of my work, and to reduce the storage size of the game, since im not using multiple scenes for the same object/image. (Right now, Storage Size is 53.43MB, which is a lot for a 2 Night Demo...
      6. Not releasing a release date, as this will pressure me to get something done, and potentially rush it, or make myself ill due to stress and so on (like before.)

      I hope you all understand the last one, which is important to me and family, and so on. but i assure you, this project is going to take a while to complete fully.

      ALSO:
      I have had 3 people ask for the.. Unused beta.
      if you want to keep them, please go ahead and do so.
      But please dont share it aroud until im happy with you to do so.
      i had good feedback from 2, and excessive criticism from one, which was good.

      But im working upon that criticism, and hopefully ill be able to impress people with what i can do!

      I'll provide screenshots of my progress in the following weeks, and ill also talk about what ive been up to in the comments.

      but for now, ask any questions you may have, and ill answer them as soon as i can (or as soon as an email notification comes in)

      @aidan-oxley I rarely get the forums to have me log in, but its almost every time i use the app it asks me to log in. I'm glad i flagged this since its getting attention from more people (including the devs, which im most happy about.)

      but i wont lie, it does get annoying from time to time.

    • FNaF: FFD Moved. Again.

      I think I should probably just say now, I probably shouldn't have made a release date for FFD since I cant keep to them.

      only 2 things are slowing me down, the AI and Phone Girl's recordings are taking a while to perfect.

      but I do have an answer to when it should be done.
      Late August - Early September.
      Specific Dates aren't exactly my strong suit, and i usually just break them. this is one of those occasions.

      anyway, i am working as hard as possible to find a way so that the AI works, but isn't too hard to understand/figure out, and I'm getting the voice actor to do a few more tries to determine which call is more fitting for each night.
      at the moment, I'm thinking of re-creating the office. It doesn't look the nicest, and the fact that its a main mechanic, its not exactly a great example of my works up until now.

      Oh, if anyone doesn't mind in helping me with this AI thing, I'm happy for people who know how to create one to help, since its my first time creating Computer Intelligence. I'll send over a copy of the game, get someone to try it out, tell me whats wrong, and what to do to make it better. Basically, I'm asking for a few people to try the game out before I release it, but I don't know if I could trust people not to share it about.
      But I guess if anyone asks, I'll send it to them. There's only going to be a few people to get their hands on it pre-release, and do it on some sort of condition. Send requests in the DM, because then we can disclose private information, and send each other .tap files for the game.

      anyway, that's all for now. this was really just a heads up post that it isn't coming out tomorrow, and that I'm sorry for anyone who was waiting on it. even if it was a few people, my intention wasn't to disappoint.

      I'll post updates in the comments.

      @eggbot-creator yes, im still pending on them being sent to me. the games release is going to be pushed back until sometime in September since this takes a while to perfect. I'm still fixing up my AI for Fredbear.

      @eggbot-creator I also forgot to mention that I took a FNaF 3 approach with the game for night one. And that's to get used to what you have to protect yourself from Fredbear. Fredbear isn't in night one, so this can actually just be used as a more laid back night. Choose to do nothing, or to check out your stuff.

      Night two is where it gets real.

      @eggbot-creator there's a torch, and it runs out of power, and you can't recharge it. The building never runs out of power. But there's mechanics that force you to leave the camera system. Um...
      There's also doors that have a timer of 1 second on them, so you don't just keep the doors closed all night long. This is also to prevent them from being unusable.

      And to answer your other question, the demo has 1 animatronic. I'm not too sure if I should change that for the full game or not, seeing as that might be a bit too difficult for the player if the AI is more aggressive as the nights pass.
      The animatronic is called Fredbear (as suggested by the name)

      "Fredbear moves at random, so keep an eye on the cameras. But make sure he doesn't get into your office. He... Likes to surprise people..."

      Update:

      Release date moved.

      To be honest, this is the last thing I wanted to do, but since my AI is still having problems, and I don't have phone recordings, it may be pushed back another week or so.
      I doubt in any way it will be finished by Tuesday.

      I hope for it to be finished by Thursday (my birthday), then release the following Tuesday. Uh... Oh yeah.
      My plan for release was actually originally for September 14th, but since I had made rapid progress, I moved it to a much earlier date. Mainly because I quickly learned how to create 2.5D rooms :)
      (I used Ibis Paint X for room creation. at some point, i'll re-create it, and make everything in a 3D software thingy. most likely Autodesk 3Ds Max...)

      But anyway, I'm at home until wednesday, and I'll be working as hard as I can to get this out by next Tuesday.

      I think I got into creating games about 5 years ago or so.
      Uh...
      I got my first iPad about that time, and tried to look for development software, and found GamePress.
      I think I used it for about 2 years, and I tried using Hyperpad, and by that point, it was nowhere near as advanced as it is now, with is why I didn't use it until 2016
      My first ever game was cringe. I'd rather not say lol.
      But my old account name was (I think) Badgerbrod or something like that.
      Then when I joined they HP community, my name was MISFIT. (To be honest, I'd rather have kept that name, since Cyberdeath isn't... Great?)
      I've also never really finished a project either. I was too eager to get my idea out there and get the boring stuff out the way. I kinda stopped that after my last game. I don't really remember what it was though...
      Anyway... I've talked for way too long now.
      Plus this forum is quite old..

      Oh well.
