@Deeeds fix is very difficult, actually. Since a lot of our app runs on timers, everything will need to be tested. Just because its a "quick" code fix (it's also not a quick fix), does not mean its a quick fix for everything.

As for timers being slightly inaccurate, I think its because time is based off of frames, so if you're doing some pretty time accurate things, they need to be multiples of your fps eg 1/20, 1/60, 1/30 etc.

    @hamed Bullshit.

The primary fix (independence from CADisplayLink) isolates you from the problems without creating other obligations and changes nothing of significance about cocos2D.

I might even know this to be fact.

    I know you do.

@hamed when I let the project with them timers run for long enough, ALL of the timers have a different number. There's a 0s timer, 1s timer, 0.5s timer, 0.25s timer, 0.2s timer and a 0.1s timer. All of those are divisible by 60 (1 frame, 60 frames, 30 frames, 15 frames, 12 frames, 6 frames respectively).

And this is only one part of the problem.

If you have multiple timers, and they all do your "rounding" @hamed, then every single one must be manually forcibly reset, without knowing which one is the problem.

This, the lack of functions and references generally indicate you don't care about your (very few) users.

Stop writing. Just fix it. Update it. Then go play with your efforts to become virtual currency "playas".

We're also working on Hyperpad full time. But it’s hard. There’s a reason why we're the only WYSIWYG game creator on iPad.

You're not the only WYSIWYG game creator on iPad. You're just the only one that never gets around to updating. The other significant one manages to create up to date documentation and samples and fixes, and updates to 3D and ARKit, despite having a programming team of the exact same size.... because they ACTUALLY work on it more than a little. Not full time, but more than you.

@aidan-oxley No attack, yet. Just observation, commentary and critique. When you know the difference between those things and an actual attack, you'll be ready for a career in media. If you believe this is toxicity or need a safe space, that's on you.

@deeeds There's another WYSIWYG game creator on iPad? Maybe you should delete hyperPad and go download that one, and then you won't have to complain so much. Have you never seen a hyperPad update? They do get around to it, they just take a while.

@aidan-oxley try Codea and Construct 3

Neither offer Chipmunk2D and cocos2D rendering, but they're both very good at what they do, and far better in just about every way, other than the above mentioned two things.

@hamed Just a lucky coincident. Your brother and I know someone in common and they share an interest. I spent some time consulting on their desire to create an ICO based on a shared proof of work concept that was pretty cool. Then they got carried away effectively gambling on existing virtual currencies... which seems to be a common distraction.

@hamed I'm very keen to see a proof of work concept come to reality that's not parasitical
and/or inefficient, wasteful use of computing and/or energy. Current forms of "mining" are, in my view, legacy guff. The ideas of shared ledger DBs have been proven, now it's time to find ways to make any virtual currency's distribution mechanisms generally beneficial rather than deliberately exclusive via "crypto mining" and/or other wasteful, purposeless means. It is an interesting space, the idea that a currency's means of distribution and creation be beneficial to its inherent purpose as a store and transfer of value.

@deeeds Well just so you know hyperPad updates do actually exist, they are rare, and have loads of content. What's so good about chipmunk and cocos that makes you choose hyperPad over Codea or Construct 3? You clearly have a LOT of issues with hyperPad.

Deeeds, any suggestions on what I should have for dinner tonight? At this point I'm sure you know what's in my fridge too. 🤣

Also, once again leave it to Deeeds to take a topic incredibly off course making it harder for us to find issues and fix them. Then he questions why updates take so long.

@deeeds I’m sure everyone tells you this, but YOU ARE SUCH A LOSER!
Why don’t you just leave them alone? They’ve offered you a refund on your purchase of Hyperpad, why don’t you leave? Yes, we all find annoying bugs, YES they fix them, and yes it takes a while. But it’s worth it. That’s just what happens when new features are added.
From what you say, you hate Hyperpad. But you stick around. So 1. You don’t really hate it, but are dealing with a mental disorder. 2. You just want to be here to bother them....okay yeah, you still have a mental disorder.

@Murtaza maybe we should all stop over at your place for dinner tonight and we could talk over deeeds issues and figure out the best medical treatment?

@Deeeds, I'm just wondering why are you doing this. You can see you're pissing everyone of for a reason, and it's really strange that you are the most active user on forum, though you act like you hate hyperPad. As @iTap-Development said, why won't you just stop bothering everyone around? Became an adequate member of hyperPad community or just leave? What's wrong with you?

If you're not yet aware of constructive criticism and the right to critique, then it seems peculiar that you're critiquing what I write. If you are, then it's just reactive, defensive nonsense on behalf of an entity that does nothing for you.

Take a moment to figure out what you're defending.

the underlying problem, pertinent to this thread, is a huge issue for the (very few) users of hyperPad.

I'm sorry if that's gotten lost in whatever else has followed. This is something that can be addressed by simply following the chains of thought and approach to time used in all other game engines, that of frame/tick/physics steps or ticks.

This thread has validity, even if much of what exists within it is nonsense.

Is that the constructive criticism you mentioned?
Yeah they do nothing for us....that’s why we’re all here.
