    • Made Entirely From An Ipad. First Look!

Its been a long journey. I know alot of you guys are probably tired of me asking a million questions lol. But it was all worth it to me. I appreciate everyones help. The game im creating is called The Adventures Of Moonchild. Who is from an advanced civilization race during the Cretaceous period. More on the history of the story later. For now i want to share a few low res gifs from the actual gameplay. The first level is about 60% done and im honestly waiting for lighting to come to hyperpad to really put the icing on the cake and light up the dark environment which the first stage takes place inside a cave. This is a vertical flying game filled with hidden doors, easter eggs, boss fights and alternate endings. Everything you see is created entirely from my ipad. I did use a few assets in which i tweaked to my liking. All main characters are hand drawn and animated using the pixaki app. Music will be originally composed by myself all from inside garageband and various 3rd party plugins. Hope you guys enjoy the first look. More to come soon including a full animated cutscene.

    • Search Bar for used behaviors

As my project is getting bigger by adding more levels and features I really think a search bar to find your used behaviors is a must. Its really difficult to navigate around the scene with hundreds if not thousands of behaviors everywhere trying to find a specific behavior that I made. Its a nightmare trying to find the “BehaviorOn2532” that was created in a pool filled with other behaviors that look exactly like it. How I picture it working is a search bar in the top middle. And as you type the specific behavior to locate. The screen zooms into the exact coordinates on where it is. Even a reset view button would make the world of difference. If im not mistaken I think I did see this feature in the trello board.

    • Cleanup And What Not To Do Tips

I wanted to create this post for people or the developers to share their tips on this subject. Their are post on what to do when making these games. But i havent seen a dedicated post on what not to do. Please share some good cleanup tips and what not to do when building a game specifically within hyperPad and the behavior system. Heres what i learned personally from Hamed over the phone.

      • do not spawn in multiple items constantly. instead recycle the ones that are already in game by constantly positioning them where they need to be or only when they are able to be seen.

    • Swift playground coming to ios 15

They just announced that you can build apps directly from the ipad with swift playground. Is any of this being integrated with Hyperpad where maybe we wont need a mac to build our games? Interested to see how this either effects or helps hyperpad. @Hamed

    • RE: Loop animation doesnt work when chaining

@Aidan_Fire it waits for the above animation to finish if i set it to only loop once. Whats happening is that its not waiting for it to finish if i set it to loop 3 times or even 100 times. Otherwise it wouldnt matter how many animations i have stacked above if it will only read the bottom 1.

    • App wishlist for the Ipad

I came up with this idea from my last post and decided to share some ideas I had in mind for some app softwares dedicated to game development. I know these cant be made from hyperpad at the moment but im pretty sure there are some talented developers in here that might know how to make these things happen. Here are apps that do not exist on the app store that would be a good idea to build if you have the skills to do it. Please note the idea of this post is to spark creation ideas for apps dedicated to the ipad.

      1. Spritesheet splicer tool. Though they have free online Web services for these. There is no spritesheet splicer tool that exist on the app market.

      2. 2d animation with bones similar to Spine 2d software. They have animation apps in the app store but all are frame by frame animation. There is no bone configuration app to easily animate 2d images such as Spine 2d and dragonbones for the pc and mac. If anyone here has the skills to pull this type of app off. This is definitely where the money is at.

      3. A dedicated chiptune audio creator. They have garageband and alot of other music creation software. But none are dedicated to the chiptune retro sound. Garageband has a plugin you can use but only for the mac os version. A good plugin that i use for logic pro is called Minibit. Would love to see a version of this dedicated to the ipad.

      4. A pixel maker with all the right tools. Ok so i literally bought them all in the app store and im not exaggerating also. My opinion for the best pixel app is called pixaki. Its $24.99 and its almost perfect. It lacks the tools like a laso tool. Rotate and many custom shapes. A very good app for pixel creation is a software called Asesprite. Its literally photoshop made just for pixels. Their timeline animation feature is also a very Unique approach to animation for frame by frame. The bad news is that its only a pc\mac version. If anyone could make an app very similar to Asesprite but for the ipad. That would be game changer as well.

Please also share your ideas of apps you wish existed in the app store. You never know when the right developer with the skillsets is reading these things to make it happen. Hint “ hyperpad team lol.

    • Grouping behaviors on the U.I Editor

So I’ve really been trying to learn other game engine softwares to broaden my learning for game development. I have been using Unreal Engine and their blueprint system is actually very similar to hyperPad visual scripting interface. They have this feature that I love where you are able to group a certain amount of coding into one to have a better and cleaner looking interface. View the screenshot. You can select all the coding into a group and even place a comment above to see what that group of code represents. Be nice if hyperPad inherited this feature so we can have a more cleaner interface and know exactly where our coding is at on the behavior editor section. It’s also nice because you can move this entire block of grouped coding easily.A8353A4F-4EC8-485A-8386-E8E649029A10.jpeg

    • I Give Up.

It’s official. I have been on the search to build a full game just for iOS. These are the game engines I have tried. Unity, Unreal Engine, Godot, Gamemaker, recently Construct 3. Construct 3 is actually the closest you will get to developing on an iPad. Has all the features I could dream of. Has a lot of similarities to hyperPad which actually made learning it much easier. But dammit nothing beats hyperPads interface. In construct 3 to test your game on your device you have to literally build it in Xcode. Then transfer it to your iOS. With hyperPad they are clever with the viewer app as you can test your game on any iOS device without even building to Xcode. Which makes me think of a quick question. Ive noticed people had lag issues with some of the games on the hub. Is that lag issue only apparent to hyperPad. Let’s say they were to build that game to Xcode and actually test the final build. Would the lag still exist with that Xcode file? But anyways back to the subject. If anyone here is trying to embark on finding the perfect game engine to specifically build for iOS. Don’t bother looking. HyperPad truly has something special with this software. I can only continue to cheer them on and hope they would add those missing features that keeps me embarking on my journey for the perfect game engine app for iOS really soon. Let’s start small guys. Please please add these 3things. Lighting, Parrallax Backgrounds, Background repeater. Ive noticed each one of those game engines I mentioned all had these features and were actually pretty easy to use. So I know these are in the future development for you guys. Just please make it the near near future. Like a month from now if possible lol. @Murtaza @Hamed
